Exactly. Why must everyone assume that better loot and higher levels must be the goal of every single game? This game has a story, and a world. The PvE element of the game you can think of as an expanded version of a traditional single-player RPG. It's a refreshing break from your traditional MMORPG, and it was meant to be.

Much of the trouble with new builds lies in the closed-mindedness of many players, I agree. However, if you could simply find a few friends that share your view of things, it makes tinkering with builds and exploration that much more fun.

I could'nt say it better (or when english will be my primary language )

I m here for the story, the missions, the exploration the fun of grouping, etc etc... With some friends, we often explore some areas and take some group pictures (this game is DAMN beautiful, not my fault), etc... We don't have to grind to find better loot of level, so YES, THIS IS WHY WE CAN HAVE FUN.

And I m doing some PVP in competitive areas by the way. This is why I had to farm a little to have my Hammer 15%dam with -5 energy (That is why I didn't bought it at Droknar, I didn't want the >50 modif) and a superior vigor rune...

If you like lots of levels, large item diversity, and farming, then WoW is right up your alley (although I find the actual gameplay to be much less interesting).

Anyway, even if the POWER of the items must stay the same (What makes this game so great is that the poor players, those who don't have much time and the richest/grinders/farmers are on the same level of power), more diversity in the skin or abilities of weapon/armor could be nice, as some more areas to explore, missions and quests related to the story/background.

Nothing that can unbalance the game though.

New skins would be nice, but as a quick fix, increase the drop rate of dyes or make them tradeable via a collector. They are not important really, but would at least give us the "option" to dye our same skins different colors.
As it is for me right now... I have many dyes in storage that I'm saving till I get the "end" armor so I can finally use them. If they dropped more often or didn't cost so much, I could be having fun looking "spiffy" right now. I could sit bored to tears in a town spamming "WTB x dyes" but talk about boring... that I will not buy from other players...

Anyway, back on topic: my poor ranger/warrior still has a hard time getting into pugs. I joined a guild (will remain nameless) and the first thing I was told was "You need to change your attributes so you can become an interupt ranger...". And this was with a primarily pve guild. Needless to say, I am no longer in that guild.

Most people want the builds that are most-proven in a situation, and are unwilling to try grps with those with other builds in the team. That's sad...because it makes any ranger and mesmer builds fairly forgotten in high-lvl places. In addition, you have more people wanting to farm for greens in SF or IDS in Mineral Springs than you have people that are trying out the quests.

What I want to see, in Factions, is a much bigger PvE world to explore and fight in.

To be honest I don't really vary my build much. I just hit fings wiv me ax.

(This is just my opinion but I think that the reason that everything is so equal with regards to level and weapon/item effects and damage is obviously to keep pvp on a level playing field. Dont forget that after we finish the game we are all meant to happily trot off and do pvp....)

Yeah I didn't read a lot of the other posts....

Anyway, yes the pve in GW isn't that good (bad story, repetitive monsters ect - I tell ya if we have a slightly different coloured devourer in cantha there is going to be trouble, I mean a REALLY bad story - hey lets abandon everyone and run away !!) but if I WANTED a deep plot that at least attempts to make a modicum of slight sense (and I do) I'll get Oblivion when it comes out (and I will).

I'll still keep hitting fings wiv my ax in GW, though. 'Cos it's fun.

how about... scaling monster hp levels like diablo II?

something like:
1 character = 1/max char * hp
2 character = 2/max char * hp
.
.
.
8 character = hp
